September 11th is arguably the darkest day in recent American history. It was a bottom people experienced on a national level. We can choose to stay stuck in anger and resentment about how unfair it was, or we can take a look at the event from another perspective. We can look at the courage of the first responders. We can see the random acts of kindness that took place in the aftermath. We can appreciate how after falling down, we came together. We can also look at our own personal bottoms and see how out of the ashes of our consequences lies the ability to be a better person as a result of having survived hell, and living to tell the story. Today, I will use my own personal story of pain to become the best version of myself. I will recognize that when I am the best me possible, that others benefit as well.
