Think of the energy you put into your addiction. Addiction often comes with lying, cheating, stealing, and manipulating. For many, the lifestyle of addiction is exhausting. It is like a bad investment. The more time, effort and energy we put into the lifestyle, the more we lose. The good news, the empowering news, and the encouraging news is that what we have demonstrated is that we have what it takes to put the work in to get what we want. Today, I will put my energy into my recovery. I will invest my time into something that pays off with improved relationships, more money in my pocket, renewed self-esteem. I will put my energy into something that is worthwhile not just in the moment, but for a lifetime.
