David Gerber has been in the field of addictions for over 30 years. His extensive career has afforded him opportunities to create and lead several successful programs in New York State to help those addicted to alcohol and drugs.
Prior to founding Sober at Home, David has helped thousands of men and women in inpatient, outpatient and incarceration programs. Most recently, David served as Chief Clinical Officer for Resource Recovery Center of Orange County, an inpatient detoxification and rehabilitation program. David helped the new program double in size, and to obtain full state and national accreditation within the first year of operation.
David is also founder of Hudson Valley Interventions. The unique team approach David employs contributes to a success rate that is twice the national average for substance abuse related interventions.
David has been an adjunct professor in the Pace University School of Graduate Psychology since 1999, and served as chairman of the Hudson Valley-Catskill Coalition of substance abuse providers from 2005 to 2017. David is a nationally recognized change leader for the Network for the Improvement of Addiction Treatment (NIATx), and has mentored several agencies in process improvement.
In addition, David has presented on topics related to substance abuse both nationally and internationally. He has been featured in newspapers, radio, TV and podcasts on substance abuse related topics and motivational encouragement groups.
David is known for his intuitive ability to meet clients where they are, and provide the right balance of encouragement and confrontation to help them find their way to sobriety.
