Doing the work of recovery is hard. If it were easy, there wouldn’t be programs like AA, professional treatment or Sober at Home. It is important that we take time to recognize that it can be fun also. I’ve worked with people in treatment programs that would tell me that they can’t remember the last time that they had laughed so much. Enjoying recovery is important. Having fun in recovery is an antidote to the desire to return to use. Today, I will take time to laugh and remember all that is good about recovery and the recovery process. Many give up on recovery because they don’t have fun. I will incorporate fun and laughter to support my efforts to stay sober.
