We see whatever we want to see in life. If we seek out misery in people, places and things, it will be hard to find the beauty. This doesn’t mean the beauty isn’t there, it’s just that I fail to see it. The more I actively try to see the glass as half full, the more beauty I will find.Compare it to how I chose to see things in addiction. Was my view of myself and others miserable? It is my choice to view things as miserable or beautiful. Today, I will challenge my negative thoughts to find beauty. When I think negatively, I will take the time to find positives. I will slow myself down and ask myself the question, could this situation be worse? Today, I will recognize that the more positive I choose to be, the easier it will be to stay sober.
