There is a bright light ahead for those in recovery. Sometimes we are afraid because the road ahead in recovery is not clear or tangible. This is to say that when we are using our substance of choice there is a degree of comfortable consistency. Even though we suffered consequences, and things likely got worse along the way, we came to know almost exactly what we would get from our drug of choice. In recovery, we are often promised a better life, but we enter into recovery with so much baggage, we fail to see how we can have what it takes to see how we can possibly have a better life in sobriety. But giving up on ourselves deprives us of living a life beyond your wildest dreams. Today, I will look for the light, and I will hold onto all things good, healthy and positive. Today I will recognize that just because I can’t see or control what sobriety has to offer, I will have faith that better things are in store for me when I choose recovery.
