How many times have I talked about quitting my drug of choice, only to put it off another day, week, month or year. We came up with excuses why today was not the day to quit. On the other hand, when it came to our use, we found our way through excuses. We overcame obstacles when it was important enough to us. This demonstrates our capacity to act. The question is, is my sobriety important enough to me to stop talking and start doing? Today, I will be a person of action in recovery. I will recognize that by not being proactive in recovery I am stepping backwards towards addiction. Today, I will realize my potential by taking the actions necessary to attain my goals in sobriety.
