In early recovery people may not take you seriously. Those who you are connected with don’t think it will last. Those you’ve broken promises to, are likely to not trust. There will be plenty of doubters. The longer you stay sober, the more you are likely to see the doubters become believers. Until the time comes in which you make believers in others, you can start by believing in yourself. Don’t let those you have used with get in the way of the important work you are doing. This is your time, you have no control over when it may be someone else’s time. Just don’t get sucked into the negative drama. Today, I will allow myself to shine. I will bask in the sunlight of sobriety, and will not be led by the negativity of others. Today, I will be guided by healthy thoughts and actions
