“What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make”

– Jane Goodall

Nearly every action we take in life has positive or negative consequences. When we continue to drink and use drugs, we hurt ourselves, those we care about, and ultimately society as a whole suffers when you suffer. When we get sober, we engage in actions that can have not just a positive impact on me, but the ripple effects can be far reaching. If you were the person who got behind the wheel of a car under the influence, think about how everyone is safer now that you are sober. You are making a difference in the world no matter what behaviors you engage in. It’s up to you to decide what kind of difference you are going to make in the world. Today, I am deciding to make a positive difference in my life and the world around me. I will engage in healthy behaviors and allow my actions to make the kind of difference I always envisioned.
