When a woman goes into labor, the closer she gets to delivery, contractions get longer, stronger, and more frequent. This is the opposite of how the recovery process works. The longer you stay clean and sober, your urges, craving and temptations are less intense and come much less frequently.
Today, celebrate the decision you have made towards a life of sobriety. Take heart in knowing that every single day you choose not to use, it gets easier to refuse and to stay clean and sober. The hardest day to stay sober is the first day.
