If you have ever heard a commercial on the radio asking you to buy gold or real estate promising huge returns on investment, there is always a tagline at the end that says, “Past performance doesn’t guarantee future results.” In our efforts to get sober, we often think the opposite. Past unsuccessful attempts at getting sober mean that we will not be successful today. Nothing could be further from the truth. If we wanted to get sober in the past, we would have. There are reasons why we chose not to stick with it. Today, don’t define yourself by your past. Today, you have a chance to redefine who you want to be.
