“The Future Depends On What We Do In The Present.”

Yesterday is gone. No matter how good or bad yesterday was, it’s not coming back. We do not have the power to make tomorrow come any quicker or slower. What we have is today. All day. It doesn’t take much of a crystal ball to realize that what I do today can have an impact on what tomorrow might just look like. The decisions we make today can have a ripple effect on our future. Take drinking and driving. A simple decision in the moment that I was ok enough to drive and convince others the same, may have led to a DWI or an accident. Our decision at the moment may have cost us our license, our freedom or someone else’s life. So while we don’t want to live in the past or the future, we can recognize that our decisions today can impact our tomorrow’s. Today, I will live in the present. The healthy decisions I make today will make decisions I have to make tomorrow a little easier. With every day I stay sober, life seems to get a little more manageable.
