We are not defined by our past. We have the capacity to redefine who we wish to be. Recovery offers us the ability to decide who we want to be. Far too many people rob themselves of the ability to enjoy a brighter future, because they are stuck in defining themselves by their past. At any given moment, you can decide that you wish for more, different and better. Today, I will decide that now is the time to redefine who and what I wish to be. I will work on becoming a better version of myself. I will recognize that I was not put on this earth to be miserable. Today, I will choose recovery.
