Enter to Win

We tend to act in a way that is consistent with what we believe in our hearts. Often, we talk about what we want, but do the exact opposite. These words lack value, when our actions don’t match. If I say I love my children more than anything else, but continue to drink or drug and make excuses why we don’t have time for them, then what is really in our hearts is a desire to use. But we also have the power to change the values and priorities in our hearts to allow our words to match our deeds. To win in recovery, it is essential that we start believing in the power that healthy and positive thinking has on our ability to be successful. Today, I will use my inner power and believe that I can be successful in recovery. I will not view myself, nor act as a loser. Defining myself as a loser serves no healthy purpose to those in recovery. Today, I will think about the efforts I have put forth in recovery, and take stock on how I am living the life of a winner, with even better things to come.
