Many have often put off the notion of change. There is a book entitled “I’ll Quit Tomorrow.” Many times we are like people at the beach who dip their toe into the water without ever experiencing the exhilaration of just jumping in. The longer we wait, the longer we put off sobriety, the more difficult it becomes. This is not because we lose the ability to get sober, but our addiction becomes so ingrained into our personalities that we begin to lose hope of anything different or better. Today I will take advantage of the opportunity in front of me. I will stop putting off sobriety and taking short term gratification, when a better life is waiting for me in the long run. I will do it now!
