Casey is a Licensed Master Social Worker. Before officially beginning her work in the mental health field, Casey obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a specialization in Human Development and Family Science. She also obtained her Masters in Social Work with a specialization in Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder at The Ohio State University – as she is originally from Ohio.Casey has worked in a variety of settings, schools, the community, hospitals, and private practice. No matter the setting, she focuses on the holistic view of the person – taking the family, community, and larger overall view into consideration. She has worked with folks on a number of concerns including addiction, anxiety, dual diagnosis, mood disorders, life transitions, relationship issues, school issues, self-esteem, suicidal ideation, and trauma.
She has also gained experience with many age groups and identities, she is LGBTQ+ affirming, culturally sensitive, and actively works to gain understanding of marginalized communities.
Though always utilizing trauma informed care, Casey is currently working toward becoming more specialized in trauma work while utilizing an eclectic approach with pieces of cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, humanistic therapy, and a focus on increasing somatic awareness.
Casey empowers clients to utilize their strengths while holding them accountable and challenging them objectively, without judgment. Casey strives to help others find their happiest, healthiest self while committing to holding a safe space that facilitates growth and healing.
