Who we spend our time with often speaks volumes as to who we are in recovery, and the likelihood of our success. If we continue to try to make recovery work around unhealthy people, we make our efforts at staying sober that much more difficult. If we try to spend time with people that are supportive of our efforts, it may be the difference between trying to swim upstream with difficulty or downstream with ease. Today, surround yourself with those who wish to see the best in you. If you have burnt bridges and don’t have someone to connect with, consider making a meeting and building those connections that reinforce your desire to move forward in recovery.
