In addiction your life may have been monotonous. You would wake up and use and/or perhaps go to a job or family function waiting for your opportunity to use again. You may have become somewhat aimless doing the same things over and over again, hour after hour, day after day etc. You can aim higher. So many others have and have been successful blazing the trail to let you know that a real and meaningful recovery is possible. When we shoot for the moon, we are recognizing that we are not satisfied with where we are in life today. When we set goals, and work toward achieving them, we begin to lift ourselves out of the muck that weighs us down. Today, I will shoot for the moon in recovery. I will break free of living my life on the hamster wheel and rise above. I may not get everything I want, certainly not right away, but I will have a life of meaning and purpose once again.
