-Martin Luther King, Jr.
It would be nice if we could go back and never make the choice to pick up a drink or drug. That obviously can’t happen. How long have we put off the decision to stop? How many times have we said that we wanted to stop, but it was never the right time? The best time to make a “right” and healthy change is today. Everyday we refuse the opportunity to give into our urges, cravings and temptations is a good day- a “right” day. Today, I will accept that I have control today to do what is right. I will fend off negativity, and the voices in my head that tell me it is OK to do what is unhealthy. I will acknowledge and find gratitude for doing the “right” thing.
